MY FAVORITE SNARE DRUMS
This is where it all begun. My first snare! I got it when I was 9 years old. Still have it.
Yamaha "Miri Miettinen"
"Miri Miettinen 50th Anniversary Model". Made with "Vinnie" specs. 6 inch deep with 70 degree bearing edges. nice birthday present from my F-Music guys. They have been supporting me since 1983!!! Thank you!!!
Ludwig 5,5 Copper
Nice "crack" and "ping". I got it as a present from my long time producer friend Pauli Ruuskanen, with who I have recorded more than 700 drum tracks already.
Yamaha Peter Erskine model 3.5
This is the first model they produced. I put "symphonic" string type snares on it.
PT-Percussion 6" Free Floating Pearl
Pasi Tenhunen, my drum tec, made me a Free Floating Pearl matching color Keller-shell maple snare. Rock & Roll!!!
Yamaha 3,5 brass
I got this when I gratuated from P.I.T. Nice "crack", smooth as silk, records very well, microphones love it! Big sound for a small size...
Kari Leino 5" Birch (block)
Kari Leino (Joni's father) made me this block snare for my 40'th birthday. Really sensitive and nice sounding snare! Thanks again Kari!!! I put Pearl "Super Hoops" on it and it sounds amazing!
This is my old tom-tom (Yamaha). Pasi made me a spare snare for my Yamaha Hip-Kit. Fat but tight.
Yamaha Rock Tour 6,5
Probably my most recorded snare. Big and fat. That's how I like it... I call this my "swede". I still think the "swedish drum sound" is one of the best sounds in the world. That Nicci Vallin, Per Lindvall and so on... you know...
Radio King 6"
Shell from the 20's and other parts from 30-40's. I bought it a long time ago from the Vintage Drum Center. That "old sound" when needed.
Yamaha Custom Snare
Yamaha's own "Acrolite" type of a drum. One of my best and most often used snares. I really love it!!!
