HERE YOU WILL FIND SOME PICTURES WITH LITTLE STORIES
Hahaa! Playing at my school party in 1975. Yamaha D-20 kit.
This is the drum set I bought from Casey Sheuerell, my lovely, fantastic teacher at P.I.T.
Hi! My name is YAMAHA Miri Miettinen 50'th Anniversary Model 6,5" Snare Drum. I got it from the guys from F-Music distributer's Vantaa, Finland, when I turned 50. Thank U guys!!!
Limited Edition 50th Anniversary model #001
This is my FX-CUSTOM desk from Finvox-studios (B) from the late 70's. It was hand built by Mr Loukovaara. It used to be a 32-input desk but it's been chopped down to a 16 channel pre amp now. It's got the Valley People pre ams and a nice MCI-type EQ. Sounds very punchy and sweet. I love it!!!
It still has the original wooden frame made by Ande Päiväläinen. A good drummer friend of mine...
I just love Nashville!!! I might get to visit it some day... Hah!
Hand built by Mr. Rantanen the "wizard" from Finvox Studios. LA 2 A type. Smooth and nice...
For drums. This is the older model of the B-Band mike. The new one is called "UKKO". Great for triggering... I like to use it on snare as a bottom mike.
My favorite for OH's and all other acoustic instruments.
Some times you have to use your imagination to make your drums sing! This time my winter gloves did the job just fine ;-)
I'm a big fan of sE microphones. Here the Woodoo just 1 feet outside my BD during the recording of Erja Lyytinen's Forbidden Fruit album.
Here we (Erja Lyytinen Band) are at the famous BBC Maida Vale studios in London. What an amazing history and vibe this place has ;-)
Drum corner at BBC Maida Vale studios.
This time they used them on guitars at the BBC Maida Vale studios.
Back in the days they used this phone as a talk-back between the the control room and the studio ;-)
PT (Pasi Tenhunen) drum maker from Finland built me a kit with this "Pig" 24" BD. Here we are at the E-Studio recording Erja Lyytinen's "The Sky Is Crying" album.
Erja's Sky Is Crying; only the drums were recorded on 16 track, 2" tape first. Then tranfered to the computer. Nice little tape compression going on...
Here is the Gringos Locos kit with my Gretsch snare. Tight and bright ;-)
Here we are with "Beavis" at Finnair Stadium, Helsinki where we supported for Santana. My kit looks so tiny by Dennis Chamber's kit ;-) LOL
At the Finnair Stadium with Santana. Dave Floreno, Miri, Erja Lyytinen, Roger Inniss.
This is a horse race board game from the 70's (rare). We used to play it with my brother on Christmas time. A tradition that we still like to keep on with. Now my kids love it too;-) It takes a good 6h to play thru.
A pair of one of my very first Converce tennis shoes from the early 80's. Still going strong. I use them in the studio only. Groovy feet;-)
I like to do cycling if I can. it's a shame it's too dangerous to do it in England. This is my Nishiki "hybrid". The "mountain" is in the garage.
No animals or insects or other creatures were harmed during making these web-sites. She flew away before i hit a birdie ;-)
I got this Yamaha vibraphone for my 50th Birthday from all of my friends. When I grow up and get old, I will become a jazz-musician ;-) Yeah right...
Yes! I simply adore them!
Everybody knows who he is. If I run out of batteries, he will just go on ;-) But this guy starts in 5/4 time and when he gets hot he is in 6/4. So if you wanna jam, you better be ready...!
My touring kit with Laurence. BD22", Toms 10", 12", 14", 16" but I'm only using the 12" and 14". Coated Remo Emperors on top. Power Stroke on the BD. Great sounding kit and I love the colour :-) photo by Al Stuart at the Sheperd's Bush, London.
The Jack DeJohnette model or the Dave Weckl (old) one. I don't sweat easily, so the stix have to be covered with paint or laquer.
